Institute for Human Rights and Business
The Institute for Human Rights and Business (IHRB) is a global centre of excellence and expertise on the relationship between business and internationally proclaimed human rights standards.
We provide a trusted, impartial space for dialogue and independent analysis to deepen understanding of human rights challenges and issues and the appropriate role of business. We seek to address problems where the law may be unclear, where accountability and responsibility may not be well-defined, and where legitimate dispute settlement mechanisms may be non-existent or poorly-administered.
The Institute works to raise corporate standards and strengthen public policy to ensure that the activities of companies do not contribute to human rights abuses, and in fact lead to positive outcomes.
CSR Conflict Management Centre
The CCMC is a unique initiative for the management of CSR related conflicts in company-community relations. It aspires to be the independent international facility supporting and contributing to the implementation of the access to remedy pillar of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. As an independent global portal, the CCMC will enable knowledge-building and enhance practical access to non-judicial dispute management as a supplement to the traditional court system. The CCMC will facilitate, support and contribute to locally driven processes of conflict management in company-community relations, increasing the capacity for companies, communities, dispute resolution facilitators and 'neutrals' to enhance the resolution and stimulate the prevention of company-community disputes.

International Waters and Communities Initiative
The International Water and Communities Initiative addresses the lack of safe drinking water and sanitation in developing countries, as well as the failure of local governments to be transparent to and actively engage affected communities and residents. Fundamental needs for safe water, sanitation, and hygiene are not being met because of underinvestment, poor investment decisions, inappropriate technologies, ineffective systems of operation and maintenance, and the failure to involve local residents in the decision making process. Climate variability further compromises current and future water security in communities that already lack safe water. The Pacific Institute's International Water and Communities Initiative addresses these needs by developing tools and trainings, and by working on the ground in developing countries.

To date, CWS has launched 38 water businesses that provide clean water to over 20,000 people.
Water For All
Since 2004 Water For All has improved access to clean water for hundreds of schools and communities in sub-Saharan Africa. Along the way, we have witnessed great improvements in both education and health as a result of multiple water interventions. We also have seen there is no "one size fits all" solution to the water crisis in Africa. Each school, community, and individual has a unique set of needs and circumstances.
