The Mineral Resources Forum is an online information resource for issues related to mining, minerals, metals and sustainable development that seeks to engage a broad range of users, including governments, resource companies, and concerned civil society institutions. The goal is to promote an integrated, inter-disciplinary approach to the broad and growing range of technical and socio-economic issues arising from the resource lifecycle, starting from exploration and mining through to the consumption, transformation and recycling of mine-sourced products.
The Mining, Environment and Development CD-ROM is a compilation of recent documents and publications by the United Nations and other organizations related to mineral resources, mining and sustainable development. It is intended to complement the online resources provided by the Mineral Resources Forum by providing alternate methods of disseminating information, ideas and good practices to individuals and organizations. The CD-ROM is particularly targeted at users in areas which lack fast or reliable Internet service capable of downloading large documents. The contents of the CD-ROM (arranged by topic and organization) are hosted on the Mineral Resources Forum and may be viewed at www.natural-resources.org/minerals/CD
