The purpose of this presentation is to undertake an assessment of the Women in Mining (WIM) work to determine how well it fits with other gender work in the East Asia Region and, based on the achievements of the WIM work in Papa New Guinea, to provide input to the Oil, Gas, Mining and Chemicals Department (COCPO) team in preparing a guidance note on gender and the extractive industries for possible use in the Region/SDN Network.
