The 13th Annual Meeting of the Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions will be held in Kulua Lumpur, Malaysia from 28-31 July 2008. The meeting will be hosted by the Human rights Commission of Malaysia.
Days one and two will include meetings of the Advisory Council of Jurists (ACJ), the Senior Executive Officers and the Forum Council. Days three and four are set aside for the APF conference, which is open to APF members and all registered observers.
Topics for discussion at the conference will include the current ACJ reference examining human rights and corporate social responsibility; engaging effectively with the Universal Periodic Review mechanism; and events and programs to mark the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human rights. There will also be reports presented from APF members, discussion of regional cooperation between national human rights institutions, as well as presentations from government representatives and non-government organizations.
