The latest edition of the Business.2020 newsletter has a special focus on forests. As we continue to absorb the implications of the important decisions taken during last year’s Nagoya biodiversity summit, and we intensify our planning for future Conferences of the Parties and the United Nations Decade on Biodiversity, it is important that we all aim to take positive and concrete actions that can move the agenda forward and ensure that we meet our goals for 2020. Business as usual is no longer a viable solution for our planet. If we don’t make significant changes before the end of the decade, we may not have another chance.

We are very pleased to have contributions from a wide variety of interests in this sector, including certification schemes, companies involved in mapping the forest, others involved in establishing protected areas or “green corridors”, and some very innovative schemes that demonstrate sustainable forestry practices in action. All of these aspects are vitally important to ensuring that businesses can function in a sustainable, but still profitable manner.
